Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the traitor.
